Nice fishing today at the Island. Our charter group of 12 passengers ended up the day with 1 yellowtail , 21 calico bass, 93 half moon, 4 sheepshead, 2 whitefish and released 4 big black seabass. Here’s a pic of our Chartermaster Andy with a nice Catalina Island yellowtail.

Twilight Lobster Hoop Netting trips start on Saturday September 28, 2013 and run thru March 19, 2014. The Gail Force operates its Lobster Trips out of Pierpoint Landing in Long Beach. Trips depart every Thursday thru Sunday at 6pm and return around 11pm. Cost of the trip is $65 and is limited to 10 passengers. Price includes use of all lobster gear and bait. All passengers must have a valid CA Fishing License and a valid Lobster Report Card, both of which are available at Pierpoint Landing. Tickets can be purchase at Gailforcesportfishing.com or by calling the Gail Force at (310) 844-3814. The Gail Force can be chartered any day of the week for private Lobster Hoop Netting Trips.

Capt Art Grant lined up some of the boys from Jacobsen Pilot Service and a few tug boat guys to get out on the Gail Force for the second time this season. We had a good opportunity to get a big score but something about these smaller Yellows that makes them pretty hard to get in the boat. We ended our day hooking about 25 yellowtail and boat 12. The fish we any where from 8 to 40lbs. Also in the mix were some decent sized Calico Bass and Barracuda.
